Ffestiniog
The unique colours of Ffestiniog slate compliments both heritage and ultra-modern architecture throughout the world.
The Ffestiniog quarry is situated in the heart of Blaenau, Ffestiniog in North Wales and has been producing slates from 1818 and was formed by the Ordovician slate beds laid down over 470 million years ago.
The quarry has recently re-opened due to a high demand for Welsh slate after being closed for more than a decade.
