Richie joined the ISS team in May 2019 with 20 years of roofing experience, having previously worked at Gordon H Richards, Clydesdale Roofing and SIG Roofing Supplies. Richie says he understands the challenges that merchants and contractors face, and can bring this knowledge to the company to ensure it continues providing its customers with technical and site support. Richie is a passionate supporter of the Welsh language, and communicates in Welsh where he can.

Having studied in the Building and Construction industry, Rob specialised in the roofing sector, working for one of Europe’s largest slate manufacturers, starting as an internal sales manager before culminating as the UK Sales Director for Natural Slates, and finally, the ‘Supply Chain Manager’ for the holdings group. This role involved travelling the world sourcing Natural Slate for the UK and European group holdings. With over 25 years’ experience, Rob’s love of natural slate brought him to ISS in 2018, ‘to work with like-minded people that understood the natural slate industry’. The fact that ISS was an independent family-owned business with over 35 years’ trading, weighed heavily in Rob’s decision to join the company.

Darryl has worked for a leading builders merchants for much of his career and joined ISS in April 2024.

Darryl acquires an extensive knowledge of various construction and roofing materials and has experience developing and expanding business opportunities with both customers and end users.

In addition to his practical skills, Darryl is a proud owner of a Sales Executive Level 4 qualification.

In his spare time, Darryl enjoys motorcycling, mountain biking and spending time with his family.

Simon McLean has spent his last 20 years in the KBB industry, working mainly with property developers, site managers and large-scale contractors in Lincolnshire. This role involved liaising with suppliers to project manage the supply of kitchen and joinery materials for the trade. In the last 15 years Simon has managed branches in the merchant sector for two of the largest builder merchants in the country before returning to Cornwall to work for Independent Slate Supplies!
